Evangelism Ministry
Vision
Bringing souls into the kingdom, building the saints, and sending them into the mission field.
As Glad Tidings Fellowship Highglen Evangelism Ministry, we exist to pursue and fulfill the divine mandate enshrined in the GREAT COMMISSION espoused in Matthew 28v19 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” And our heartful response is “…we are going…”.
Purpose
Reaching out, touching and transforming lives of people who do not know, and are alienated from, God through the proclamation of the undiluted saving gospel of Jesus Christ within and outside the church.
What we do
Our ministry strives by all means necessary to engage the church from being mere passive participants, to being passionate engaged evangelists and witnesses, expanding and establishing the Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This end we pursue through
- teaching and exhorting the church on personal witnessing,
- organising whole church open air evangelism and crusades,
- door to door witnessing in our communities,
- follow ups on new converts,
- personal discipleship,
- Church planting,
- We have a cell group system that endeavors to bring the Word of God to the very doorsteps of our neighbors. Acts 1v8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
- In addition, we teach and encourage our people to demonstrate practical love to their immediate and extended families, their immediate communities, and everyone within one’s sphere of influence at any given time. For Christ said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven,” Matthew 5v16. The apostle Paul also instructed Titus thus, “And let our people learn to devote themselves to good works, so as to help cases of urgent need, and not be unfruitful” Titus 3v14.
The Evangelism Ministry works hand in glove with the New Converts Ministry. The New Converts Ministry is the one responsible for the teaching, discipleship, and baptism of the new converts.
What we have achieved so far and where we see ourselves going
We seek not to grow a church (denomination or just the local congregation) but the Kingdom of our God and Savior Jesus Christ.
We have had the blessing and privilege of planting Churches, and God willing, we shall be planting another one in August 2017 in a newly established community in Budiriro 4 (CABS housing scheme), Harare, Zimbabwe. It is our prayer and desire that we plant as many churches as possible within the borders of Zimbabwe and beyond. For we have been divinely commissioned, “Go ye therefore…” and we must keep on going till the trumpet sounds and we are raptured home.
As a local congregation, we are earnestly questing to saturate our immediate community with the saving gospel of Jesus Christ. Hence, in 2017 we have scheduled thirteen open air evangelism crusades, several door to door witnessing programs during some of the weekends, as well as evangelism Sundays at church.
We shall not cease to blow the trumpet of the gospel until that day when the trumpet of the rapture is sounded.
